Fun In the Green..
That’s the theme of this year family day of the company I’m currently working for. A day when employees gather together, bring along their families, with lotta activities. This year gathering took place in The Lodge, Keranggan. As the theme suggests, all the activities are held outdoor, but of course there’re some tents specially built for some special purpose. Quite a lot of games were held. Ceramic painting, shooting range, daster futsal, galasin, and many more.
At first, wasn’t too interested to join. Have been longing for a peaceful weekend lazying around doing nothing. hehe. But the temptation to taste some traditional delicacies as per informed prior to D-Day conquered the laziness. Not to expect that it would turn out disappointing for the main purpose of the trip. The delicacies were somehow not as per expectation, and the taste was not that good, if not awful.
Nevertheless, it was a really pleasant time. Teamed up with Agung, Markus in Galasin game. Never came cross to my mind that we would win anything from this "just for fun" game. Hehe.. Quite surprised to learn that we emerged as the second runner-up. How was that possible ? Hmm.. still wondering. 1 Gig USB Flash Drive was the prize. Really great, given we only ran here there for less than 100 m I guess. Another game we participated was the human football machine. Another victory, another prize. CD Case, not bad.. no need to buy one which was on plan before.
Activities in which employee can bring along their families is always a good idea in my opinion. During the day, I could see the smile upon each face. Laughter of children who won the prize, or parents/partner cheerings on children/spouse competing in the games. Working will and always be part of one’s life. So taking out families for fun under company’s spending is a good thing I think from company’s perspective. Some employees are working so hard that sometimes they have neglected their families. This can be a way to improve work-life balance.
Speaking about company gathering, we can’t leave out doorprize. Door prize offered in this gathering were quite tempting. Who doesn’t want to have a 32 inch LCD TV anyway ? Haha.. I’ve never won anything before in door-prize scheme, but this time around my 0471 number had won me a DVD Player.. Yupee..
1 Gig USB Flash Drive, 1 CD Case, 1 DVD Player. Not a bad reap huh ? =)
